RICKY King got off to a perfect start in his quest to become Swanage Premier League Darts champion for an impressive third time in a row.

Two 5-0 wins have put him top of the pile in the early stages.

Jamie Elm and Johnny Powell have both also started with maximum points, both beating David Elm 5-3 and 5-2 respectively.

Jamie Elm also beat Graham Churchill 5-1 with an impressive 75 average, while Powell overcame Jim Irvine 5-2.

Meanwhile, Al Petto won the battle of the newcomers 5-4 against Colin Mutter but lost his other match 5-1 to Ryan Norman. Mutter won his next contest against Dean Wedge.

Wedge got off the mark with success over Colin Barker - as did Graham Churchill.

In the Championship, Jack Papworth topped the table with two wins, hitting a maximum along the way to reaching the summit.

Ollie Oddy is hot on his tail with two victories of his own, while Kaine Pragnell, David Dixon and Jack Watts secured a win each.

In rugby, a second-half try from lock forward Marcus Seaton proved not enough for Swanage & Wareham, as they were toppled 17-5 at Grove in Southern Counties South.

Defeat left the Bestwall outfit sixth in the table, with 15 points from their opening six games.
