SWANAGE & Wareham sealed their fourth Southern Counties South victory of the campaign after a 25-12 success at Corsham.

Victory put the Bestwall outfit sixth in the division with 21 points from eight games.

Despite giving away numerous early penalties, Swans winger Ice Matacagi wriggled free from a couple of defenders to score under the posts after seven minutes. Steve Woolley added the extras.

The visitors then crossed for a second time. From a scrum on the Corsham 10-metre line, centre Matt Roberts broke clear and found Matacagi, who went in for his second score.

But more penalties to the hosts put them into Swans’ five metre area and eventually led to Corsham driving over the try line after 35 minutes, meaning Swans led 12-7 at the break.

The Dorset club started on the front foot in the second half and after 48 minutes, a penalty had Woolley converting.

Matacagi then chipped over the Corsham full-back and in a race to the try line he scored out wide for his hat-trick.

Swans continued to dominate. From a line-out and drive, the ball came out to opposite winger Rory Ferguson who joined the party with a try of his own to grab a bonus point.

Corsham reduced the deficit with a try in the corner late on.
