MANCHESTER City boss Pep Guardiola has quashed speculation over a January move for Cherries defender Nathan Ake.
Sky Sports this week reported City were “interested in rivalling Chelsea” in signing the 24-year-old, who has been at Cherries permanently since 2017.
Guardiola initially dismissed any likelihood over making transfer moves next month but had conceded “when an incredible opportunity comes in January for the next four or five or six years, maybe we can think about it".
Asked in today’s press conference whether Ake fitted that bracket, Guardiola said: “No, it’s not an issue. We don’t speak about that.
“With these players we started the season, we are going to finish the season.
“If something I think is going to happen, it will be in summer time.”
Ake has played 107 times for Cherries in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists.
Asked if there would be any January business at City, Guardiola replied: “No”
