DORSET star Georgia Hall admitted being away from playing on tour made her realise “how much I love what I do”.

The 23-year-old is currently keeping up her fitness at her new home near Parkstone, while professional golf is shut down amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Hall has not featured on the LPGA Tour since mid-February, when she competed at the Australian Women’s Open.

As well as going for daily runs and undergoing workouts, the former Canford Kid has also been working on her chipping in the garden.

And the world number 39 described how much she was missing being out on the course.

Hall told the BBC: “It just makes me want to cherish things when we do start to play again.

"I never thought in my lifetime that we would go through something like this and it kind of arose very quickly.

“The only positive you can take out of this is realising how much I love what I do, I love travelling and I'm missing the tour family."

The former Women’s British Open champion has also been fine-tuning her DIY skills while in lockdown.

"Having recently moved into a new place I'm lucky that I've got things to do like painting and doing stuff in the house," she added. "I'm trying to keep myself busy.

"I think it would be quite easy to sit on the settee all day doing nothing, so I try to do at least one or two productive things a day. It kind of keeps me going.

"I want to get it all done now so I'm not worrying about it when we finally get away again.

"Anything that's major, I'm better off not touching!"
