SWANAGE & Wareham’s Ladies hockey team signed off before lockdown with a 3-1 home victory over Fleet & Ewshot II in Hampshire Division Three.

The home side had a strong team at its disposal but it was the visitors who opened the scoring from a deflected short corner.

This made Swans step up the pace and an equaliser came just before half-time from Amy Lucas.

Swans star Liz Goldsack was proving a threat - she made countless spectacular runs down the right wing producing many dangerous crosses. In the second half, the forwards managed to take advantage.

The first came from Eden Crook and Liz Solomon sealed victory with a third to wrap up the win.

Elsewhere, Swans Ladies’ second team also emerged victorious with a 2-1 success at Southampton V.

The game was played in torrential rain with Swans conceding an early goal. Shortly after, Jan Withers was hit on the nose which ended her afternoon.

Swans fought back and equalised before half-time with some great attacking play. Nikki Brooke was well positioned on the left post when Georgie Morris put in her cross.

On an increasingly waterlogged pitch, Swans continued to battle and they got their reward.

The visitors converted a short corner when Jas Warren slotted home a rebound, producing a well-fought victory.
