TALENTED teenager Freddie Long took centre stage as Swanage Cricket Club held its annual curtain-raiser with two inter-club matches.

The highlight of the weekend was Long's superb innings of 103 scored at a run-a-ball, which included 14 boundaries.

The other batting highlights were half-centuries by Charlie Dyke, Mike Nash and Craig Wells.

There were also useful contributions from David Alcock, Ben Hodder, Harry Long, Tom Wells and Chris Wood.

The leading wicket-taker was Sid Nash with four, there was also useful performances by Jack and Tommy Battrick, Andrew Hancock, Steve Kent, Safia Nadaf, Jacob Pope, Steve Ramsey, Ryan Stearn and Lily Wood.

The pre-season preparations continue this Saturday with the club’s first XI hosting Bere Regis and the second XI and third XI travelling to Bere Regis and Wareham respectively.
